Our team were approached by pop-up experts Disappearing Dining Club and Ballantine's whisky to assist with the UK launch of Ballantine's Hard Fired - a whisky which is aged in double charred American Oak barrels.

The launch was held at London Glassblowing for 10 members of the trade press to celebrate the UK launch of the brands latest expression - currently only available in travel retail. Guests were treated to welcome cocktails of a Hard Fired Apple before having a glassblowing demonstration with the team from LGB making a whisky tumbler.

After the demo guests could then try their hand at making a couple of cocktails, including our favourite Hard Fired Old Fashioned using a large measure of the whisky stirred with maple syrup and black walnut bitters. The cocktail is garnished with a whisky soaked prune and Luxardo maraschino cherry.

Before leaving all guests were then given a tasting of the whisky neat with a selection of small canapes made by DDC.
