The team from BlackLeaf Events were asked to attend the launch of a new magazine from The Economist titled '1843' - relating to the year that The Economist was first published.

Our team provided two professional cocktail bartenders, a mobile bar which we also had bespoke branding created for, glassware - including our new Glencairn tasting glasses and additional cocktail ingredients to make the delicious 'Gold Fashioned' cocktail using The Macallan Gold, gingerbread syrup, chocolate bitters and orange peel.

Speaking at the event, the editor of the new magazine said:

"1843 is a new bi-monthly sister title to The Economist. It is aimed at the globally curious, highly educated, affluent people who read The Economist, but will address them when they are in a different mode. The Economist speaks to readers when they have their business heads on; 1843 will speak to them when they are relaxing on a Sunday afternoon, on holiday or on a weekend break. The Economist tells them what they need to know to navigate the world; 1843 will tell them what they want to know to enrich their lives."

‚ÄčOur team served up welcome drinks of the Gold Fashioned cocktail followed by samples of The Macallan Sienna on the rocks or neat. We ended the event with a tutored tasting of The Macallan Rare Cask paired with stunning assam tea and cardamom chocolates created especially to pair with the whisky by Iain Burnett, one of just five Master Chocolatiers in the world!
